Hens' Rabelo, Worth hammer Clippers

COLUMBUS - Mike Rabelo and Danny Worth each homered for Toledo and Enrique Gonzalez pitched six dominating innings as the Mud Hens crushed the Columbus Clippers 10-1 yesterday.

After three scoreless innings, Rabelo hit a three-run home run in the fourth to give Gonzalez a three-run cushion.

While the Clippers got a run back in the bottom of the fourth, Gonzalez was able to stymie Columbus' bats. He threw six innings, giving up six hits, one unearned run, no walks, and struck out five to earn his first win of the season.

Jason Waddell and Scot Drucker combined to threw three scoreless innings of relief for the Hens.

Toledo added two more runs in the fifth, one in the eighth, and then four in the ninth, thanks in part to Worth's two-run homer.

The Hens finished the night with 11 hits with Max Leon, Jeff Frazier, Rabelo, and Worth each adding two. Rabelo had a team-high five RBIs.

Michael Brantley went 3-for-4 for Columbus with a double while Shelley Duncan went 2-for-4 with two doubles. Brian Bixler added two hits.

Jeanmar Gomez took the loss for the Clippers, giving up six hits, five runs, four earned runs, five walks, and striking out two in 41/3 innings.
