LOUISVILLE — Ayersville High School product Chad Reineke pitched the Louisville Bats to a 3-2 victory over the Mud Hens at Louisville Slugger Field Tuesday night.

Reineke limited the Hens to just six hits and a walk in eight strong innings, striking out two and giving up two runs to improve to 4-5 on the season.

Louisville's Bill Bray came on in the ninth to get the final three outs, fanning a pair, to claim his first save of the year.

The Bats scored a run in the second when Todd Frazier slammed his eighth home run of the season.

The Mud Hens got that run back in the third when Casper Wells led off with a double, advanced to third on an error, then rode home when Wilkin Ramirez smacked a single.

Jon Weber's first home run as a Mud Hen came in the fifth and gave Toledo a 2-1 lead.

But in the bottom of the sixth the Bats retied the game on a leadoff homer by Yonder Alonso, his third round-tripper of the season.

Louisville scored the game-winning run in the seventh off Hens reliever Brendan Wise, who came on for starter Ryan Ketchner after the latter held Louisville to seven hits and two runs while fanning four in six innings of work.

Chris Valaika greeted Wise by singling, then took second on a sacrifice by Chris Denove before racing home on a single by Zack Cozart.

The Mud Hens and Bats will play the third game in this four-game series Wednesday starting at 11:45 a.m.
