The Mud Hens snapped several streaks with a 3-1 win over Columbus in front of 9,024 fans at Fifth Third Field Friday night.

With the win, Toledo snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Clippers and a three-game losing streak overall.

Hens starter Duane Below shut out the Clippers over seven innings, while newcomer Chance Ruffin got the final six outs and allowed only an unearned run to earn his first save.

Toledo got just enough offense against Columbus starter Zach McAllister, scoring twice in the sixth on RBI singles by Scott Thorman and Jeff Salazar, and Thorman added an RBI hit in the eighth.

The Mud Hens begin a two-game series against Indianapolis at Fifth Third Field Saturday, with first pitch set for 7 p.m.
