Mud Hens score early to beat Norfolk

Toledo wins 5th game in a row to stay hot

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Toledo Mud Hens kept up their scorching play with a 4-3 road win over Norfolk Wednesday night.

The Hens did all their damage early, scoring all four runs in the first. Argenis Diaz got the Hens on the board when he scored on an RBI single by Jeff Salazar. Timo Perez stole home with Danny Worth batting before Worth hit an RBI single to right to score Salazar. Worth later scored on a single by Clete Thomas.

Ryan Perry (3-0) earned the win, throwing two scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts, two hits, and a walk. Chance Ruffin struck out one and gave up two hits in a scoreless inning to earn his seventh save of the season.

NOTES: The Detroit Tigers called pitchers Duane Below and Charlie Furbush up to the majors and sent pitcher Adam Wilk and outfielder Casper Wells to the Mud Hens.
