  • LOUISVILLE -- The Toledo Mud Hens dropped their final game of the first half 3-2 to the Bats in Louisville on Sunday afternoon.

The Hens carried a 1-all tie into the eighth inning, until Justin Henry made a key error, dropping a fly ball with the bases loaded to allow two Bats to score, giving Louisville a decisive 3-1 advantage.

Louisville took a quick 1-0 lead in the first after Henry Rodriguez scored on a Dioner Navarro sac fly off Thad Weber.

Weber then settled down and allowed no more runs on seven hits over 7 2/3 innings while striking out three.

The Hens tied it up at 1 in the seventh after a Ben Guez RBI double scored Argenis Diaz.

Diaz scored again off a double play ball in the ninth to cut the Louisville lead to one, but Jordan Smith managed to close out the victory for the Bats.

The Hens head into the All-Star break 19 games back in the International League West division.

They will resume play on Thursday when they head to Rochester to take on the Red Wings for the first time this season.

NOTES: Diaz went 4-4 to extend his hit streak to 10 games and raise his average to .272.
