ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Mud Hens began their second half with a loss on Thursday night as Rochester used a big sixth inning against Andy Oliver to prevail 4-3.

Oliver lasted 5 2/3 innings, giving up four runs on four hits with four strikeouts. Wings pitcher Daniel Sattler earned his first win of the season in a relief effort of starter Jeff Manship.

The Hens took an early 1-0 lead after an error by the Red Wings allowed Jerad Head to score in the top of the first. The narrow lead lasted until the sixth inning, when things fell apart for Oliver.

Danny Valencia opened the scoring with a two-run single followed by a double from Tsuyoshi Nishioka that scored two more runs for the Wings. However, the Mud Hens would not go quietly. Jerad Head blasted a two-run home run in the top of the seventh to cut the lead to just one.

Toledo actually out-hit the home team 9-4, but the Wings' bullpen shut down Toledo for the final two innings, dropping the Hens to 37-54 overall.

Rochester and Toledo battle again today at 7:05 p.m.
