Mud Hens continue to struggle after break

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Toledo Mud Hens lost their third game in a row after the All-Star break and fourth straight overall -- dating back to July 8 -- in a 4-3 defeat at Frontier Field on Saturday night to host Rochester.

The Red Wings (46-48) overcame a 3-0 deficit, scoring twice in the bottom of the fifth and taking the lead in the sixth with a pair of runs off Toledo starter Casey Crosby.

Crosby allowed four earned runs on eight hits, fanning five.

Nick Blackburn made his second start for Rochester since being optioned from Minnesota. He allowed five hits and one earned run while striking out three.

Toledo (37-56) was able to push across the first run in the top of the third when Justin Henry scored Andy Ciriaco (3 for 4, two runs) on a sacrifice fly.

The Mud Hens put up two more runs in the top of the fifth after the Wings made two straight errors.

The Red Wings got on the board in the bottom of the fifth when Chris Parmelee's ground out brought Rene Rivera home.

Danny Valencia followed up with a single that drove in Matt Carson from second.

Tsuyoshi Nishioka tied the game in bottom of sixth when he doubled to left field, scoring Sean Burroughs. Nishioka scored when Michael Hollimon laced an RBI single into right to take the lead.
