Mud Hens snap losing skid

BUFFALO -- The Toledo Mud Hens finally got the second-half monkey off their back, picking up their first win since July 7 with a 4-2 victory against the Bisons on Monday night. The win ends a five-game losing streak and gives Toledo its first win since the All-Star break ended.

Justin Henry and Ben Guez each had two hits while Guez led the charge with a double and two RBIs in the victory for the Mud Hens (38-57).

Buffalo (49-47) was held in check by starting Toledo pitcher Thad Weber, who tossed seven innings of four-hit ball while striking out four and issuing two walks.

Henry and John Lindsey each drove in a run for Toledo, which broke a 2-all contest in the top of the ninth with a pair of runs to take the lead.

Reliever Chris Bootcheck finished off the Bisons with his 16th save of the season, striking out two batters.

Jose Ortega earned the win for Toledo, pitching the eighth inning and to two additional batters in the ninth despite walking three batters. He also struck out two.
