Mud Hens' Henry named IL batter of the week

The Mud Hens' Justin Henry was named International League batter of the week, the league announced today.

Henry went 14-for-26 (.538) for the week, posting a batting average nearly 100 points higher than his nearest competitor. Henry had multiple hits in five games and begins this week with a six-game hitting streak.

In seven games last week the 27-year-old Mississippi native also scored six runs, had three RBIs and stole two bases.

For the season Henry is batting .293 with one home run and 36 RBIs.

Henry and the Mud Hens return to action Tuesday when they host Indianapolis at Fifth Third Field starting at 7 p.m.
