INDIANAPOLIS — The Mud Hens claimed their first win in 10 games against Indianapolis this season, rebounding from an early three-run deficit to claim a 6-3 victory.

Toledo got home runs from Ben Guez and Danny Dorn to snap a three-game losing streak.

The Indians scored all three of their runs in the second inning off Hens starter Ramon Garcia. Brett Carroll singled and scored on a double by Tony Sanchez. Jerry Sands walked, then —after a wild pitch — Garcia gave up a two-run single to Ivan De Jesus.

But those were the only hits and walk Garcia allowed in six strong innings. The left-hander struck out three on the way to his first win of the season.

Toledo cut its deficit with a pair of runs in the fourth off Indianapolis starter Kris Johnson, who gave up a single to Jordan Lennerton, an RBI double to Nick Castellanos, and a run-scoring single to Bryan Holaday.

In the sixth the Mud Hens took the lead for good as Dorn singled and Guez followed with an opposite-field home run to right, his fourth home run of the season.

The Hens tacked on two insurance runs in the eighth as Castellanos reached base thanks to a fielding error by Jared Goedert, and Dorn hammered his team-leading seventh home run of the year.

Brayan Villarreal pitched two scoreless innings in relief of Garcia, giving up a hit and a walk but striking out three. Bruce Rondon pitched around a hit and a walk to retire the Indians in the ninth to claim his sixth save this season.

The Mud Hens return home today for 6:30 p.m. game against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to begin a four-game series.
