The Mud Hens gave up three runs in each of the last two innings and suffered a 7-5 loss to Syracuse at Fifth Third Field this morning.
The Chiefs got a three-run homer from Corey Brown in the eighth to overcome the Hens' 3-1 lead, then scored three times in the ninth, with two coming on a double by Jeff Kobernus.
Nick Castellanos hit a three-run homer for Toledo in the sixth, and Jordan Lennerton capped a 4-for-4 day with a two-run double in the ninth.
The Mud Hens will take Wednesday off before beginning a road trip with a game at Gwinnett Thursday.
