ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Toledo Mud Hens hit four home runs and got a strong effort from Ramon Garcia to cruise to an 8-1 win over Rochester on Saturday.

Kevin Russo, Jordan Lennerton, Nick Castellanos, and Argenis Diaz each homered as Toledo won its fourth in a row and now is 6-2 in June.

Garcia was called up from Double-A Erie to start in place of Jose Alvarez, who was promoted to Detroit to start for the Tigers today. Garcia held the Red Wings scoreless on three hits and a walk until tiring in the seventh.

In the seventh Garcia gave up an infield hit to Dan Rohlfing and a walk to Ray Olmedo. With two outs Brayan Villarreal relieved Garcia and gave up back-to-back walks to force home a run.

Meanwhile the Red Wings also used an emergency starter, and former Hen Virgil Vasquez struggled. Russo hammered the second pitch of the game from Vasquez over the fence in left for his third homer this season — all of them in the last six games. One out later Lennerton singled and Castellanos hit his 10th homer of the season.

In the third Brandon Douglas doubled and Lennerton slammed his 11th home run of the year.

Toledo took advantage of three Red Wings errors to score a run in the fifth, and in the sixth Diaz hit his first home run of the season. It was just the fifth for Diaz in his career and his first since Aug. 26, 2008 while in Double-A.

The Hens added a run in the ninth on an RBI single by Ben Guez.
