ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Toledo Mud Hens scored four times in the first inning Tuesday to finish their road trip on a winning note by beating Lehigh Valley 5-2.

Argenis Diaz opened the game by reaching second on a fielding error by IronPigs center fielder Tyson Gillies, then moved to third on a single by Ben Guez.

Nick Castellanos hit a grounder to third, but the throw to second was dropped by Cesar Hernandez and both runners were safe as Diaz scored.

Jordan Lennerton doubled to score both Guez and Castellanos, and took third on a throwing error. Lennerton then came home on a sacrifice fly by Mike Cervenak.

Lehigh Valley scored both of its runs in the sixth off Toledo starter Kyle Lobstein. Three singles produced one run, and Darin Ruf lifted a fly ball to center that Kevin Russo lost in the twilight for a double that scored a run and put runners on second and third. A walk loaded the bases for new pitcher Evan Reed, who escaped the jam with a strikeout and a double play.

The Hens added an insurance run in the eighth when Danny Dorn scored on single by Russo.

NOTE: LHP Matt Hoffman was placed on the disabled list with an elbow contusion after he was hit on the arm by a line drive Monday. RHP Justin Souza was recalled from Double-A Erie.
