LOUISVILLE — Four Mud Hens hit home runs as Toledo did its damage early, blanking the Bats 10-0 at Louisville Slugger Field.

The Mud Hens’ barrage began in the second inning, when Ben Guez led off the inning with a 387-foot home run to center field, his 14th of the season. Mike Cervenak followed that three pitches later with his fourth home run of the season, a 404-foot blast to left field that made it 2-0.

Toledo quickly got back to work in the third inning, when Danny Worth led off with his first home run of the season. With out one, Danny Dorn hit his 18th home run as the Mud Hens jumped out to a 4-0 lead through three.

A six-run outburst, sparked by four hits and two Louisville errors, in the fourth inning helped Toledo pull away.

The Bats committed three errors overall.

Cervenak and Dorn both drove in two runs. Guez, Worth, Avisail Garcia, and Nick Castellanos all knocked in one run for the Mud Hens, who finished with 14 hits while allowing just three.

Jose Alvarez (6-4, 2.63 ERA) earned the win for Toledo. The left-hander allowed three hits, struck out four, and walked one in seven scoreless innings.

Justin Souza walked two batters but didn’t allow a hit in working two innings in relief for the Mud Hens.

Louisville’s Chad Reineke, who entered Saturday night’s game ranked fourth in the International League with a 2.86 ERA, allowed eight runs on eight hits in three innings. He struck out two and walked three as his ERA rose to 3.39.

Reineke had gone 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA in four appearances against the Mud Hens this season, all in relief.
