MOOSIC, Pa. — The Mud Hens used a pair of three-run homers to claim a pair of victories over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

A three-run homer by Avisail Garcia in the 10th inning sealed the win, 4-1, in the first game, then got a three-run shot by Nick Castillanos in the sixth to win the second game 3-1.

The Hens now have won four games in a row and eight of their last nine.

The first game was scoreless until the fourth, when the Hens pushed home a run thanks in part to a RailRiders error. Jordan Lennerton started the inning with a single, but Castellanos forced him at second base. Danny Dorn singled Castellanos to third, and Castellanos scored when Scranton/Wilkes-Barre shortstop Hector Crespo misplayed a potential double-play grounder for an error.

Toledo starter Kyle Lobstein threw a shutout until the sixth, when his wildness cost him a run. Lobstein sandwiched a pair of walks around a single to load the bases with none out, and Dan Johnson’s sacrifice fly scored the run.

Jose Ortega came on and struck out Randy Ruiz before getting Ronnier Mustelier on a groundout to keep the game tied at 1-1.

That’s the way the score remained until the 10th. Bryan Holaday greeted RailRiders reliever Yoshinori Tateyama with a single, and after a sacrifice Argenis Diaz singled Holaday to third.

Garcia quickly unloaded them with his fourth home run of the season.

The second game was a scoreless duel between Toledo’s Blaine Hardy and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s Chris Bootcheck until the fifth, when the RailRiders’ Bobby Wilson hit his fifth home run of the season.

But the Hens erased that lead in the sixth after Kevin Russo singled and Lennerton walked with one out. Castellanos then launched a long home run to left, his 13th this season.
