The Mud Hens suffered a 3-1 loss to Columbus at Fifth Third Field tonight.
The Clippers scored twice in the first inning off Toledo starter Drew VerHagen, who gave up four hits and a walk in that frame, and added a run in the fifth.
The Hens avoided the shut out with a run in the ninth after Columbus starter Trevor Bauer allowed five hits and a walk while striking out nine in six scoreless innings.
