Mud Hens' Martinez named IL player of the week
4/21/2014Mud Hens outfielder J.D. Martinez was named International League player of the week, the league announced today.
Last week Martinez hit .318 with six home runs and nine RBIs in seven games for Toledo, including four home runs in a doubleheaders sweep of Columbus on Saturday.
Martinez currently leads all of minor-league baseball with 10 home runs, and his 22 RBIs are tops in the IL.
