PAWTUCKET, R.I. — The Mud Hens fell behind Pawtucket 6-0 after five innings and could not recover and suffered a 6-4 road loss Monday.

Toledo lost its third straight contest and fifth in the last six games.

The Red Sox broke on top with a pair of first-inning runs off Hens starter Derek Hankins as Brock Holt singled, move to third on a double by Ryan Roberts, and scored on a groundout by Daniel Nava.

Roberts, who moved to third on the Nava groundout, scored on a single by Christian Vazquez.

Pawtucket broke the game open with a four-run fifth.

Holt and Roberts also got this rally started with back-to-back singles, and a force out followed by a flyout put runners on first and third with two outs.

The Red Sox got four straight RBI singles by Vazquez, Garin Cecchini, Alex Hassan, and Corey Brown, the last three coming off Hens reliever Nate Robertson.

Meanwhile Red Sox starter Anthony Ranaudo allowed one hit until the sixth, when the Hens scored three runs. Jordan Lennerton hit a ground-rule double to score Daniel Fields, who had walked, and after Ranaudo loaded the bases with another walk, reliever Rich Hill gave up run-scoring walks to James McCann and Ben Guez.

Toledo added a run in the seventh when Daniel Fields walked, raced to third on a double by Hernan Perez, then scored on a sacrifice fly by Mike Hessman.

The Hens did not score again and finished with just five hits.

NOTE: Toledo put LHP Casey Crosby on the disabled list and received LHP Pat McCoy from Double-A Erie. McCoy is 1-0 with a save and a 3.95 ERA in nine appearances for the SeaWolves.
