Handel's `Messiah' dominates schedule

Several performances of Handel's Messiah have been scheduled in Toledo and the region this weekend.

Conductor Samuel Szor will lead soloists Tina Sandor Bunce, Margaret Mack, Richard D. Mathey, and Andreas Poulimenos at 8 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Peristyle of the Toledo Museum of Art. Tickets range from $10 to $20 on Saturday; $8 to $15 on Sunday. Information: 872-2940.

The Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra and Perrysburg Symphony Chorale will present a sing-along concert at 8 p.m. Saturday in St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 East Front St., Perrysburg. Tickets are $10 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Information: 874-7596.

At Bowling Green State University, the Jazz Lab Band I will perform at 8 tonight in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center.

Russell Miller will give master classes for pianists and singers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the choral rehearsal room.

The BGSU Afro-Caribbean Ensemble will present a Young People's Concert at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bryan Recital Hall. Tickets, $2 for adults and $1 for children, will be available at the door.

BGSU faculty ensembles will present Music for Winds at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Bryan Recital Hall.
