Moscow Philharmonic performs

Violinist Kyoko Takezawa will join conductor Yuri Simonov and the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra in an all-Russian program at 8 p.m. Saturday in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center at Bowling Green State University. Tickets range from $25 to $40.

BGSU's Kasuma Sari Gamelan and Afro-Caribbean Ensemble will present World Percussion Night at 8 tonight.

The BGSU orchestra and choruses will present a Verdi Spectacular at 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $5.

In Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore center, violist Christine Rutledge will perform at 8 p.m. tomorrow.

The University of Toledo Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. tomorrow in Doermann Theater on the UT campus.

BGSU composer Marilyn Shrude has been named Ohio's Composer of the Year for 2002 by the Ohio Music Teachers Association.

Five BGSU students - Sedalia Brown, Minnita Daniel-Cox, Josh Hamilton, Thomas Federle, and Nicolas Crowther - won prizes in the Great Lakes Regional Student Auditions of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Bowling Green musician Tom Gorman has been awarded an “Arizoni” theater award by a statewide panel of Arizona theater critics for his original score for the play Irish Annie. The play, written by BGSU professor F. Scott Regan, originally was produced by the BGSU Treehouse Troupe.
