Symphony to open 60th season

Toledo Symphony will open its 60th anniversary season at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd. Conductors include former music directors Serge Fournier, Yuval Zaliouk, and Andrew Massey, as well as current leaders Stefan Sanderling and Chelsea Tipton II. eICE is to present jazz and Latin rhythms from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Toledo Museum of Art's Cloister as part of the museum's It's Friday! activities.

Also in the museum, Musica Antigua de Toledo will present a program entitled “Ohio's History Through Music” at 3 p.m. Sunday in Gallery 29.

eTrumpet player Charles Saenz and pianist Laura Melton will perform music of Honegger and others at 3 p.m. Sunday in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center at Bowling Green State University.

eCovenant Youth Development Inc. will present Kaleidoscope III at 7 p.m. Sunday in Doermann Theater at the University of Toledo. Tickets, $20, are available at the Lifeway Christian Bookstore, 419-472-1212, the CYD office, 419-380-3100, or at the door.
