Stranahan show features 'stand-up, sit-down dancers'

1/23/2004

The Northwest Ohio Children's Dance Education Association will present The Snowman by the Cleveland-based professional dance company Dancing Wheels at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd.

The integrated company is made up of what the troupe calls "stand-up and sit-down dancers," with some of the performers in wheelchairs. The show is based on a book by Raymond Briggs, about a boy who uses a wheelchair to build a snowman that magically comes to life. The production will include 18 local children from Central City Ministry Schools and the Ability Center of Greater Toledo.

Tickets for "The Snowman" cost $4. Information: 419-535-0291.
