Spyro Gyra set for Valentine

Spyro Gyra will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at the Valentine Theatre, 400 North Superior St. The band, which debuted in 1977, fuses R&B, jazz, Brazilian and Latin music. Tickets are $20, $32 and $42 from the box office, 419-242-2787.

Singer-pianist Diana Krall will be in concert at 8 p.m. Friday in the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd. Tickets are $57.50 and $75 from the box office, 419-381-8851 and Ticketmaster, 419-474-1333.

Pearl Jam and Death Cab for Cutie will play the Toledo Sports Arena Oct. 2 as part of the national "Vote For Change" Tour. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ticketmaster or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Those purchasing tickets will have to provide personal information such as their names, addresses, age, and employer in order to comply with federal campaign finance disclosure rules. Tickets are $50 each and those who purchase them will be making a financial contribution to America Coming Together. "Vote For Change" is a multi-city, multi-artist tour that will include 34 shows in 28 cities in nine states.

Rock the Docks is scheduled this weekend at the Docks in International Park. Friday's events begin at 4 p.m. with performances by Velvet Jones from 4:30-8 p.m.; One Shot Shy performs at 9-1:30 a.m. DJ Delicious will play between sets. Saturday's events begin at 1 p.m. Bandera performs from 1:30-4:30 p.m., followed by The Bridges from 5 to 8 p.m. One Shot Shy closes the event from 9 to 2 a.m. Tickets are $5 at the gate. The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra will take the stage at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ritz Theatre, 30 South Washington St., Tiffin. Tickets are $12 and $16 from the box office, 419-448-8544.

Solas will perform at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow night at Mickey Finn's Pub, 602 Lagrange St. The band combines contemporary and traditional music. Advance tickets are $20, and $25 at the door. Detroit N/S Stickist, and Jibilian will return Friday. Co-Conspirator opens at 9:30 p.m.; cover is $7. The Red Show Biker Ball is to begin Saturday at Carrabba's Italian Grill in Maumee. Biker registration will be held from noon to 2 p.m. with a police-escorted parade leaving at

2:30 p.m. and head down river to the Harley-Davidson Sales & Service in Napoleon, where Biker Billy, host of the TV show Biker Billy Cooks with Fire and author of three cookbooks, will be the head cook. Entertainment there will be provided by The Wreckers followed by The System, a tribute to Bob Seger. Tickets are $30 per person, or $50 per couple from 419-471-4663.

Country music artist Jenna Thomas will be performing at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Lenawee County Fair, 602 North Dean St., in Adrian. The concert is free with the $5 gate admission.

The Jason Quick Quartet performs today from 12:15 to

1:15 p.m. on the north lawn of the Main Library, 325 Michigan St. This is the final concert of the summer.

Laura & Lisa Clark will perform from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow in the free "Eat to the Beat Thursdays" series, held at Levis Square at Madison Avenue and St. Clair Street downtown.

Fat Mouth Charlie and the Biscuit Rollers, a rock-blues band, will be in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday at Woodlands Park, Perrysburg. The concert is free, but concertgoers are invited to bring non-perishable food donations for the Perrysburg Christians United Food Pantry. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Schaller Building, 130 West Indiana Ave.

The University of Toledo department of theater and film will hold auditions for Richard III at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25 in the Studio Theatre, Center for Performing Arts.
