Benefits feature jazz, barbershop

Jazz artist John Cleveland will perform in a dinner concert at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Church of St. Andrew, 3620 Heatherdowns Blvd. Tickets are $25. The concert will benefit Grand Central Station, a nonprofit organization that offers after-school enrichment and tutoring to low-income children. Information: 419-243-9929.

The Seaway Commanders will be featured in a barbershop music concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4030 Douglas Rd. Tickets are $8. Funds raised will benefit a mission team that is traveling to the Deborah House, which serves girls who are victims of domestic abuse in Timisora, Romania. Information: 419-473-1294.

The Bowling Green High School Dance Team presents the third annual Showcase America Dance Contest at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in Bowling Green High School, 510 West Poe Rd. Pianist Robert Satterlee will perform works by Beethoven, Rzewsi and Schumann as part of the Faculty Concert Series at 3 p.m. Sunday in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center at Bowling Green State University.

Also in Bryan Hall, guitarist Daniel Lippell will present a concert at 8 p.m. Monday.

In Kobacker Hall, winners of the Bowling Green Philharmonia Concerto will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Music from Bowling Green at the Manor House will present mezzo-soprano Ellen Scholl and tenor Christopher Scholl at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Manor House of Wildwood Preserve Metropark, 5100 West Central Ave.

The Toledo Heights Branch Library of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, 423 Shasta Dr., celebrates Black History Month with an evening of gospel music sung by the Christian Community Sanctuary Choir. The concert will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Information: 419-259-5220.

The Netherlands Wind Ensemble will perform Mozart's rarely heard Seranade No. 10, also known as the "Gran Partita," at 8 tonight in Rackham Auditorium, 915 East Washington St., Ann Arbor. Tickets range from $20 to $42.

Pianist and conductor Peter Nero will lead the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in "A Gershwin Valentine" in Orchestra Hall in the Max M. Fisher Music Center, 3711 Woodward Ave., Detroit.
