Clarion has Delta blues

Anthony Gomes is a Canadian who plays Delta blues by way of Chicago, making for a combustible mix of guitar fireworks that he brings to Toledo tonight.

Gomes, who is playing at 9 p.m. at the Clarion Westgate Hotel, features a four-piece band that is touring behind its new release, "Unity."

He mines gospel, electric and acoustic blues, and high-energy funk in his live shows.

Tickets are $18.50 at the door. The show is scheduled for 9 p.m., and doors open at 8 p.m. The Clarion is at 3536 Secor Rd.
