Debbie Reynolds to perform in Stranahan

Debbie Reynolds will perform Broadway, Hollywood, and Las Vegas showstoppers when she performs with the Toledo Symphony, directed by Chelsea Tipton II, at 8 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd. Tickets range from $22 to $59.

The symphony also will present "The Haunted Orchestra with Dan Kamin" at 3 p.m. Oct. 23 in the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle, 2445 Monroe St. Tickets for youngsters range from $7.50 to $10; adult tickets range from $15 to $20. Information: 419-246-8000 or 800-348-1253.

The Toledo chapter of American Guild of Organists will host organ scholarship auditions for grades 7-12 at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 in Christ Presbyterian Church, 4225 West Sylvania Ave.

The scholarships, ranging from $100 to $500, are to be used for organ lessons from an AGO member or an approved instructor. Applicants need letters of recommendation from their pastor or music teacher and will have to prepare a prelude, offertory or service music, and a hymn. The recommendation letter is to be mailed by Monday to James Riedy, AGO scholarship auditions, 333 Brookside Dr., Swanton, OH 43558.

Pianist Silvard Kool will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15 in the Queen of Peace Chapel on the campus of Lourdes College, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania. Kool is known for mixing popular arrangements with his own improvisations and compositions. Tickets are $35. Information: 419-882-4529.

Also, the music department at Lourdes College will present a Fall Music Showcase featuring students and faculty, Hungarian pianists Noemi Maczelka and her daughter Dorottya Marosvari, and the Lourdes College and Zion Mennonite Church choirs.
