Doc Severinsen to join symphony for holiday concert

It will be a "Doc Holiday," celebration as Doc Severinsen, conductor Chelsea Tipton II, and the Toledo Symphony Orchestra deck the halls with an evening of music featuring classics, pops, jazz, big band, and holiday favorites, at the Stranahan Theater and Great Hall, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd., on Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $28 to $63. Faculty at the Perrysburg School of Music present a free concert of works for piano, guitar, violin, harp, and voice, ranging form classical to contemporary, at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Boundary St., Perrysburg, on Sunday at 3 p.m. Information: 429-873-0380.

The Terra Community College Music Department will hold its annual Holiday Chorale Festival, titled "Upon A Midnight Clear," featuring the Terra Community Concert Choir, Arts Chorale, Men's Chorus, Terra Brass Choir, String Ensemble, and the vocal jazz/pop ensemble State of the Art. The Toledo chapter of the American Guild of Organists present an organ recital by Dr. Roberta Gary of the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, featuring works by Bolcom, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Alain, and Buck in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 2272 Collingwood Blvd., on Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. There will be a free-will offering taken at the recital. Musica Antigua de Toledo opens it's 2005-06 series, "Concord and Conflict," with a concert titled "Music of Love and War," featuring voices and historical instruments form medieval and renaissance eras, performing music by Josquin des Prez, Clement Janequin, Andrea Gabrieli, and others, at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 915 N.
