Festival will present a world of music and dance at Owens

Holiday dances and music from a variety of world cultures including Russia, central Asia, India, North Africa, China, the Middle East, and Native America will be presented Saturday at Owens Community College.

The 7:30 p.m. show, called the Festival of World Holidays, will be staged by LifeDance Theater, under the artistic direction of former Toledoan Lorna Zilba, in collaboration with the Center for Fine and Performing Arts at Owens.

Six daytime "mini concert" presentations of the international dance program are being offered for students and seniors. The series began yesterday and continues at 10 a.m. and noon today and tomorrow. In addition, LifeDance Theater will present a World Dance Workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at O'Connell's Dance Center, 7143 International Dr., Holland. Cost is $35; registration is limited.
