Symphony schedules Beethoven concerto

The Toledo Symphony and conductor Stefan Sanderling will present Beethoven's "Emperor" Concerto, featuring pianist Peter Rosel, and works by Sibelius at 8 p.m. March 3 and 4 in the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle, 2445 Monroe St. Tickets range from $19 to $46. The Bowling Green State University Symphonic Band will perform a free concert at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Kobacker Hall of BGSU's Moore Musical Arts Center. Also in Kobacker, BGSU's Festival Series will host the I Musici Roma chamber orchestra from Rome in an all-Mozart concert at 8 p.m. March 2. The concert also will feature pianist Stephen Hough. The Detroit Symphony Orchestra continues its "Classics Unmasked" concerts, which incorporate multimedia technology and interaction between the conductor and audience, with its presentation of Beethoven's 5th Symphony at 8 p.m. March 2 and 3 and 8:30 p.m. March 4 in the Max M. Fisher Music Center, 3711 Woodward Ave., Detroit. Tickets range from $19 to $114. Also performing at the Max will be entry-level symphonic ensemble Civic Sinfonia at 7 p.m. March 5, followed by the Civic Philharmonia. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
