Performance to pay homage to visual arts

The Toledo Symphony Orchestra and conductor Daniel Hege present "Pictures at An Exhibition," featuring violists Valentin Ragusitu and Ellen Craig Archambeau in works by Martinu, Gubaidulina, and Mussorgsky/Ravel at 8 p.m. April 28-29, in the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle, 2445 Monroe St. Tickets range from $19 to $46. As part of its "Melodic Expressions" spring concert series, Owens Community College presents a harp concert by faculty member Denise Grupp-Verbon and students from her studio at 6 p.m. April 24 in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Studio Theatre, 30335 Oregon Rd., Perrysburg. A concert by the Owens Student Choir will follow at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre. Other Mainstage performances will feature Owens Voice Class students at 7 p.m. April 27 and the Owens Percussion Ensemble at 7 p.m. April 28. All concerts are free. The Bowling Green State University Wind Symphony will present a free concert in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center, Bowling Green, at 8 p.m. April 21.

Also presenting free concerts in Kobacker Hall will be the BGSU Concert and University Bands at 8 p.m. April 22 and New Works for Youths, an ensemble which features students from Bowling Green Montessori School and Toledo's Libbey High School, East Toledo and Jones junior high schools, and Warren and Franklin elementary schools, at 7 p.m. April 26.

The Ritz Theatre, 30 South Washington St., Tiffin, will celebrate Paul Taylor's 50 years of dance with a presentation titled "The Paul Taylor Dance Company-Taylor 2," featuring dances that represent the spectrum of Taylor's work, at 8 p.m. April 21.
