Kid Rock comes to Toledo Sports Arena on May 10

Kid Rock will be in concert May 10 in the Toledo Sports Arena, 1 Main St. General admission tickets are $35 from the box office, 419-698-4545; Ticketmaster, 419-474-1333; or LiveNation.com.

Blast, winner of 2001 Tony and Emmy awards, will play the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd., April 27-30. Curtain times will be 8 p.m. April 27 and 28, 2 and 8 p.m. April 29, and 2 and 7 p.m. April 30. Tickets range from $33.50 to $42.50 from the box office, 419-381-8851, and Ticketmaster.

Luminations! 2006, a fund-raising event for student scholarships at Lourdes College, will be held April 29 in the Franciscan Theatre & Conference Center at Lourdes College, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with refreshments, music, and a silent auction, followed at 8 p.m. by a performing arts gala, scholarship auction, dessert and dancing. The Oregon Community Theatre production of The All Night Strut, originally scheduled to open this weekend, has been postponed to April 27-30 at Fassett Middle School auditorium, 3025 Starr Ave., Oregon.

Curtain times will be 8 p.m. April 27 and 28, and 3 p.m. April 30. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students, from 419-691-1398.

For the second consecutive year, the Springfield Holland Assets Partnership for Excellence (SHAPE) is partnering with Springfield Township to host the Proud to be an American Idol Contest July 1.

The first round of auditions will be held at 3:15 p.m. April 27 in the Springfield Township Hall, 7617 Angola Rd. Auditions are for preschool age through adults. All songs must be sung a capella and have a patriotic theme.

Applications are available at all Springfield schools, the Holland Branch Library, Wolf Creek YMCA, and the township hall, or can be downloaded at www.springfieldtownship.net or www.springfieldfire.net.

Applicants must show proof of residency in the village of Holland or Springfield Township.

Canadian rock star Rik Emmett teams up with guitarist Dave Dunlop and special guest Brett Peeples for a concert at 8 p.m. April 29 in Gundlach Theatre at Heidelberg College, 310 East Market St., Tiffin.

Emmett, the former lead vocalist and guitarist for the rock trio Triumph, will play old hits and recent solo works. Peeples, a junior at Heidelberg, will open for Emmett, accompanied by classmate Neil Morgan. Reserved seats are $25 from 1-800-838-3006 or www.brownpapertickets.com.

Auditions for Fiddler on the Roof will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Town Hall Theatre in Grand Rapids, Ohio.
