Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday for three concerts at the theater.

The Toledo Repertoire Theatre's Arm Chair Players present Did You Say What I Heard?, a lighthearted program on the state of the English language, May 6 in Georgio's Cafe International, 426 North Superior St. The evening, sponsored by the English Speaking Union, comprises a cash bar at 6:30 p.m., dinner at 7, then the program. Kaledidoscope 2006, the Toledo School for the Arts' largest performance of the year, is scheduled May 5 and 6 in the Fine and Performing Arts Center of Owens Community College, 30335 Oregon Rd., Perrysburg.
Performances from the studio and string orchestras, piano and dance studios, ballet, jazz, guitar, chorus and pop combos, martial arts, percussion, and theater and video will be presented. Student artwork will be on display in the Terhune Art Gallery. The Terhune exhibitions open at 5:30 p.m., concerts start at 7 p.m. each night, plus a 2:30 p.m. concert on May 6. Playwright Ron Hill of Old Fort, Ohio, stars in his own play, House for Sale, May 6, 7, and 12 and 13 in the Ritz Theatre, 30 South Washington St., Tiffin. Also scheduled at the Ritz is First Friday in TNT, featuring aspiring Midwest artists performing in the National Theatre area of the Ritz. The venue is a smoke-free, conversation-friendly setting with a total seating capacity of fewer than 100, where patrons can enjoy wine, beer, or designer coffee during the entertainment.
Artists scheduled for May 5 include the St. Francis School of Music from Tiffin, 10 Mile Creek, a roots-based string band from Toledo, and Andru Bemis, a heartland folk musician from South Haven, Mich. Entertainment begins at 8 p.m.; tickets are $11 from the box office, 419-448-8544 ext. 11.
The Art Tatum African American Resource Center in the Kent Branch Library, 3101 Collingwood Blvd., presents free workshops for youths ages 12 to 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. each Saturday in May.
Participants will learn about Tatum and jazz, meet musicians and hear them perform, and create their own jazz piece. They also will receive tickets to the Art Tatum Jazz Heritage Festival, scheduled June 17 and 18 in International Park, featuring Al Jarreau. Registration: 419-259-5392.

The University Musical Society ends its 2005-06 season with two events in Ann Arbor.
Breakin' Curfew, a collaboration with the Neutral Zone, Ann Arbor's teen center, will be staged at 8 p.m. May 6 in the Power Center, 121 Fletcher St. Created by high school students, the show blends rock and roll, hip-hop, ska, jazz, poetry, and dance.
The Ford Honors Program, a benefit to support UMS's arts education program, honors jazz legend and composer Dave Brubeck at 6 p.m. May 13 in Hill Auditorium, 825 North University Ave. The event includes a performance by the Dave Brubeck Quartet, and an appearance by Brubeck's son, Chris. Ragtime Detroit! Michigan's Contribution to America's Original Music, takes place at 8 p.m. May 5 at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts, 114 South Monroe St., Monroe.
