Toledo Choral Society performs Sunday in Sylvania

The Toledo Choral Society and conductor Sam Szor will present Haydn's Mass No. 11, the Lord Nelson Mass, and John Rutter's "Gloria," at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5373 South Main St., Sylvania. Soloist Michelle McHaffie will be featured along with members of the Toledo Symphony Orchestra and accompanist Margaret Weber. Tickets at the door are $10. Information: 419-885-5791.

The Toledo Opera will hold auditions for its 2006 Summer Opera Camp from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 6 and May 13 in the opera's sixth-floor rehearsal room of the Secor Building, 425 Jefferson Ave. Auditions are by appointment and students should come prepared to sing a song from memory, with or without accompaniment. An accompanist will be provided. The camp will be held on weekdays June 19-30 at Maumee High School, with two levels: grades 4-8 and 9-12. Tuition is $375. Information: 419-255-7464.

The Perrysburg Symphony will host its second annual Derby Delight, a benefit for the symphony's youth programs, at 5 p.m. Saturday at Carranor Hunt and Polo Club, 502 East 2nd St., Perrysburg. The event will include cocktails and hors d' oeuvers, dinner and dancing, and a silent auction. Tickets are $55 and include admission to the symphony concert at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Owens Community College Fine and Performing Arts Center, 30335 Oregon Rd., Perrysburg. The concert, "American Treasures," will feature works by Copland, Bernstein, Gershwin, and others. Philip Dupont, winner of the Young Artist's Concerto Competition, will also perform. Tickets are $12, seniors $10, and students $6.

The Heidelberg College-Community Orchestra will give a free performance of works by Dvorak, Bizet, and Beethoven at 8 p.m. tomorrow in Trinity United Church of Christ, 131 East Perry St., Tiffin.

Pianist Patrick Sulken, the 2005 senior division winner of the Bowling Green State University Young Artist Competition, will give a solo recital at 4 p.m. May 7 in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center, Bowling Green. A 6 p.m. recital by all of the winners of the Young Artist Competition will follow. Both recitals are free.
