The Ashlee Simpson concert slated for tonight in the Toledo Zoo amphitheater

has been canceled and will not be rescheduled. The 22-year-old singer is reported to be ill, said Carrie Samek, assistant marketing director at Live Nation, the promoter

of the event.

Refunds are available at the point of purchase. Pop-rocker Simpson also canceled

a July 15 concert in Pittsburgh.

According to Andi Norman, spokesman for the zoo, about half the tickets for the

concert had been sold as of early last week.

Simpson is scheduled to appear Saturday at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Mich. A DTE spokesman said yesterday that the theater is continuing to sell tickets for that show.

In addition, the 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8 Guster concert at the zoo is a go but special guest Ray LaMontagne is no longer on the bill because of a scheduling conflict.
