Organ and piano concert set in the Ohio Theatre
9/28/2006"Themes Like Old Times," featuring Bill Yaney playing the Marr & Colton Theatre pipe organ and Ragtime Rick on piano, is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 8 in the Ohio Theatre, 3114 Lagrange St. The concert is a benefit for the continued preservation of the pipe organ. The work of undergraduate and graduate music composition students will be featured in a student composers' forum concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center at Bowling Green State University. Also in Bryan, the BGSU student jazz combos will perform in at 8 p.m. Oct. 5.
In Kobacker Hall, operatic heldontenor Jon Fredric and pianist Kenneth Bownen present a all-Wagner recital at 8 p.m. Wednesday and The 5 Browns, sibling pianists, will give a lecture/demonstration from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 11. The siblings came to national attention last year when all five were studying piano at the same time at the Juilliard School in New York.
