Symphony to feature Brahms, Beethoven

The Toledo Symphony presents a concert of Brahms, Beethoven, and Henze at 8 p.m. Oct. 20 and 21 in the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle, 2445 Monroe St. Tickets range from $20 to $47. Information: 419-246-8000.

The University of Toledo's Department of Music presents a free concert at 3 p.m. Oct. 22 in Doermann Theater, 2801 West Bancroft St., featuring UT's wind ensemble, marching band, symphony orchestra, concert chorale, men's chorus, and saxophone quartet. Information: 419-530-2448.

The Bowling Green State University College of Musical Arts and the Fine Arts Center Galleries present the 27th Voices of New Music and Art Festival on the BGSU campus Oct. 19-21. Music highlights include a free lecture and performance by pianist Frederic Rzewski at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 19 in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center; a concert by the Thelma Trio and cellist Madeleine Shapiro at 8 p.m. Oct. 20 in Kobacker Hall, and a concert by BGSU's philharmonia and wind symphony at 8 p.m. Oct. 21 in Kobacker Hall.
