Medieval, Renaissance works to be performed

The Toledo Opera will present Don Pasquale at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and 18 and 2 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Valentine Theatre, 400 North Superior St. The performance of Donizetti's effervescent opera buffa is a mixture of deception, comedy, and of course, romance. The University of Toledo's Department of Music will present a solo faculty recital by pianist Robert Ballinger at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The UT Classical Guitar Ensemble will present an evening of classical guitar at 8 p.m. Monday.
Pianist Christopher Harding will be featured in the second installment of the 2006-07 Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series at 3 p.m. Nov. 19.
The Flute Studio presents a program of solo, duo and flute choir performances at 8 p.m. Nov. 20. All of these concerts are free.
International jazz trumpeter Terell Stafford will perform with the UT Jazz Ensemble and jazz faculty in the initial 2006-07 UT Jazz Master Series concert at 8 p.m. Wednesday. The world premiere of "Three Devine Aspects" by Bowling Green State University adjunct music faculty member Christina Laberge will highlight a Faculty Artists Series concert at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center, Bowling Green.
Also in Bryan, Swiss saxophonist Lars Mlekusch will present a recital as part of the Music at the Forefront Series at 8 p.m. Nov. 20. Both concerts are free.
