Up For Grabs reunites for 2 nights

11/9/2006

It's 20 years older and a couple of its members have moved on, but when local band Up For Grabs takes the stage of a Toledo club tomorrow and Saturday night, everything will be familiar.

Same lineup, same set list, and same club. The band decided to reunite for the two nights and will play the same songs it played at the club 20 years ago, which means everything from Steely Dan to ZZ Top to a few originals.

Up For Grabs will be at Augie's, 938 West Laskey Rd., which was known as the Stardust Lounge in 1986. And the band, which features two drummers, comprises original members Steve Mizer, Luke Vossen, Jim Mack, Jeff McClung, and Joe Ziegler. Mack and McClung both left the band but are returning for these shows.

Up For Grabs specializes in cover songs that are "off the beaten path," Mizer said, but it also performs originals. The band will play from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. and there is no cover charge.
