Vocal group slated in Maumee

The men's vocal group High Street A Cappella will perform at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 6 in the Maumee Indoor Theatre, 601 Conant St., Maumee. The group will be celebrating the singer/songwriters of our time and choral masterpieces of the past, with a program to include the music of James Taylor, Paul Simon, Anton Bruckner, and Rene Claussen. Tickets are $5 at the door.

CitiFest will host the initial First Friday Pub Crawl Jan. 5. Guests can visit Jackson's Lounge & Grill, The Blarney Irish Pub, Diva Restaurant, Packo's at the Park, Wesley's Bar & Grill, and Manhattan's Restaurant and have all the driving done by a private chartered limousine/bus. Simply park at your favorite spot, enjoy a libation, and jump on the bus to visit the next bistro on the tour. Each establishment will offer special beverage pricing and offer complimentary hors d'oeuvres and entertainment.

Bell, Book and Candle, the 1958 romantic comedy starring Jimmy Stewart, Kim Novak, Jack Lemmon, and Hermione Gingold, has been scheduled at 1 p.m. Jan. 4 in Super Cinemas, 1301 East Mall Dr., Holland, as the latest entry in National Amusements' Silver Screen Classics program.

The price of $1 will buy viewers a ticket, popcorn, and a soft drink. The Silver Screen Classics program is geared toward senior citizens, but movie fans of all ages are welcome to attend.

Folk and gospel musicians get the spotlight Jan. 5 in the National Theatre at the Ritz, 30 South Washington St., Tiffin. Guests can enjoy a glass of wine or designer coffee in a conversation-friendly intimate setting as an eclectic selection of artists from around the region perform.

Ellery, from Cincinnati, will play acoustic alternative folk music at 8 p.m., followed by Andrew Dean from Fremont, performing gospel music. Tickets are $11 from the Ritz box office, 419-448-8544.

Ticket are on sale for a performance of A Las Vegas Tribute to Motown, to be staged at 8 p.m. Jan. 25 in the Valentine Theatre, 400 North Superior St. The Las Vegas All-Stars will present tunes made famous by Jackie Wilson, The Four Tops, The Supremes, The Temptations, and many more. The Waterville Playshop will hold auditions for the comedy/drama House For Sale from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 5 and 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 7 in Zion Lutheran Church in Waterville. Written by Ron Hill, the show takes place in the mid 1950s and is the story of Glen Martin, a 70-something widower in failing health who resists his daughter's attempts to have him sell his house and move in with her and her husband. The show consists of six men and five women. Production dates will be March 29-31 at Maumee Valley County Day School. Information: 419-381-6269.
