Con artists, flappers, pirates due at Croswell

The Croswell Opera House has announced its 40th season of summer musicals.

Scheduled in the theater at 129 East Maumee St., Adrian, are Thoroughly Modern Millie from June 15-24; The Pirates of Penzance from July 6-15; and The Music Man from July 27-Aug. 5.

Performances will be 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays.

Ticket sales begin March 1, and tickets are priced at $25 for adults, $22 for seniors, $20 for students, and $15 for children 12 and younger. Information: 517-264-7469.

Singer and actor Kenny Rogers will join the Toledo Symphony in a performance at 8 p.m. Feb. 24 in the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd. Tickets range from $30 to $70. Information: 419-246-8000.

The national tour of Jane Eyre will stop in Toledo for a performance at 8 p.m. March 2 in the Valentine Theatre, 400 North Superior St. The Tony-nominated Broadway musical is based on the classic novel by Charlotte Bronte. Tickets are $36, $45, and $53. Information: 419-242-2787.

An Evening of Rodgers, Hart & Hammerstein, a two-act musical revue, will have its premiere at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 and 24 and 2 p.m. Feb. 25 in the Pemberville Opera House in downtown Pemberville. Written and directed by Jody Madaras, the show stars Broadway actors Andrea Rae of Ottawa Hills and Carrie Sanderson of Perrysburg. A Rock and Roll Spectacular is slated at 8 p.m. Feb. 24 in the Ritz Theatre, 30 South Washington St., Tiffin. Performers include the Miracles, the Sounds of the Supremes (with 70/80s Supreme Kaaren Ragland), the Contours featuring Sylvester Potts, and Frankie Ford. Tickets range from $31 to $66. The Lucas County Hibernians will host a benefit beginning at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22 in St. Clement Community Hall, 3030 Tremainsville Rd., for the Heinzman students to compete in Ireland. Blues All Around Me, a lecture, concert, and photo exhibit in support of Black History Month, will be held Feb. 23 in the Recital Hall of the University of Toledo's Center for Performing Arts, 2801 West Bancroft St. Tom Barden will lecture and show vintage photos of the Hines Farm Blues Club at 3 p.m. A concert and interview with Delta blues legend Dave "Honeyboy" Edwards is scheduled at 7 p.m. Photos of famous blues musicians taken by John Rockwood of Blue Suit Records will be on display all day.

AUDITIONS

The Toledo Repertoire Theatre will hold auditions for The Full Monty at 1 p.m Feb. 24 in the theater, 16 Tenth St. Written by Terrence McNally with music by David Yazbeck, the show is about unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo who come up with a scheme to make some money. It will be directed by Jim Norman. Needed are 11 males and 8 females of all ages and types. Those auditioning should come prepared to read from the script and sing from the score. Auditions for the musical Quilters will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Croswell Opera House, 129 East Maumee St., Adrian. Needed are actresses age 20 to 60-ish for the all-female cast.
