10/18/2007

Area residents will have a chance to be part of Garth Brooks' brief return to touring even if they can't go to a show. Brooks will perform in a series of sold-out concerts.

A total of 159,779 tickets for nine shows sold out in one hour and 58 minutes when they went on sale recently.

The last will be Nov. 14 in Kansas City. However, the show will be simulcast live in 300 movie theaters nationwide, including the Cinemas De Lux in Maumee.

Tickets are $10, with a limit of 10 tickets, and will go on sale at noon tomorrow. They can be purchased at www.fathomevents.com or www.garthbrooks.com. An encore presentation will take place on Nov. 15.

Tickets for the encore can also be purchased online beginning tomorrow.

The concert begins at 9 p.m. and Brooks' wife, Trisha Yearwood, will make a special appearance.
