Warm-hearted comedy on Village Players' slate

The Village Players' 52nd season continues with My Three Angels Nov. 7-22 at the theater, 2740 Upton Ave. Directed by Marc Malley, the warm-hearted comedy takes place in 1910 in French Guiana and involves three convicts, a family of French colonists, and some nasty relatives. Curtain times are 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2 p.m. Nov. 16. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for seniors (60 plus) and students. Information: 419-472-6817.

The Theater League Lincoln Mercury Broadway Series opens Nov. 13-16 in the Stranahan Theater with Oliver! based on a novel by Charles Dickens. Also on the schedule are Footloose Jan. 15-18; Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Feb. 19-22; The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee March 19-22; and Annie April 23-26.

The Genoa Civic Theatre is celebrating Christmas its entire 2008-09 season. The Grand Rapids Arts Council will hold its Harvest Moon Gala Nov. 1 in Nazareth Hall, 21211 West River Rd., Grand Rapids, Ohio. The event begins with a reception at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a performance of the HeeBeeBG's, a men's a capella group from Bowling Green State University. A silent auction is also scheduled. Proceeds will be used to underwrite the cultural activities GRAC provides to the community. Tickets are $30 per person; tables of eight are $225. Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach will be staged at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Croswell Opera House, 129 East Maumee St., Adrian.
