Florida rockers coming to town

1/22/2009

As fan anticipation of the impending release of its new album rises, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is on the road for a tour that brings it to Toledo tomorrow night.

The Florida band known for its aggressive brand of emo, punk, hard rock, and screamo plans to release its second album, "Lonely Road," on Feb. 3. The disc is a follow-up to 2006's "Don't You Fake It," which sparked a Warped! tour appearance and plenty of touring, including a 2007 appearance in Toledo.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus formed in 2003 in little Millersburg, Fla., with five members, now reduced to four following the departure of guitarist Elias Reidy.

The lineup features vocalist Ronnie Winter, Duke Kitchens (guitar, piano, vocals), Joey Westwood (bass, vocals), and Jon Wilkes (drums, vocals.)

The band is known for being socially active and has raised awareness of teen suicide, among other issues.

Tomorrow's show is at the Omni, 2567 West Bancroft St. Music starts at 10 p.m. Opening acts are Tickle Me Pink and The Becoming. Tickets are $15. For ticket information go to www.ticketmaster.com or Culture Clash Records.
