Music Under the Stars to start 57th season

Music Under the Stars returns for its 57th season at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Toledo Zoo amphitheater, 2700 Broadway. The Toledo Concert Band under the direction of Sam Szor will perform a free concert with the theme of Partnership, featuring the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, among others. Special guests will be the Cassandra Dance Company and Broadway vocalist Cassie Okenka. A fee will be charged for parking in the zoo's Anthony Wayne Trail parking lot.

Hollywood Undead and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will perform Tuesday in the Omni, 2567 West Bancroft St. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the all-ages show. Tickets are $22 in advance from the Omni and Culture Clash, and $25 at the door. They are also available from ticketmaster.com.

The 50th Ann Arbor Street Fair and three concurrent fairs open Wednesday and continue through July 18 near the University of Michigan's main campus and the downtown area. The popular event features 150 juried artists, the Potters Guild, art activities, and performances. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. through July 17 and 10 a.m to 6 p.m. July 18.

The sixth annual Battle of East Harbor takes place tomorrow-Sunday at East Harbor State Park in Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio. The theme this year is the 1863 battle of Gettysburg, with events centered on the fight for Cemetery Ridge and Pickett's Charge. Visit military camps and artillery units, talk to members of the cavalry, and hear the boom of the cannons. Highlights include a candlelight tour followed by artillery firing as the opposing sides encounter each other at twilight Friday. Along with re-enactments throughout the weekend, Saturday events include cavalry/drill demonstrations and a period dance, open to the public. Sunday features a Civil War-era baseball game at 1 p.m. and a re-enactors' parade in full colors at 3:30 p.m. Information: thebattleofeastharbor.com.
