A group of Toledo high school students and recent graduates are putting on a show.

SUA Summerstock will present The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Friday-Sunday in the auditorium of St. Ursula Academy on Indian Road.

Their first show is a guaranteed charmer. A Tony Award winner in 2005, it concerns six spellers at an annual competition. Each speller is somewhat outside the mainstream, and each has a different reason for being there, from parental pressure to an effort to fit in somewhere, if only for a short time.

About 25 students worked on the show, representing such schools as St. Ursula, Notre Dame, St. John's Jesuit, St. Francis De Sales, Central Catholic, and Perrysburg.

The cast comprises Billy Barabino, Tyler Clark, Trevor Dorner, Mia Gladieux, Anne Glaza, Doug Jensen, Jacob Kinder, Eileen Perry, and Sam Zoepke. The crew includes Veronica Zimmerman, Christopher Zavac, Gabby Trojanowski, Meg Schneider, Taylor Sawyer, Matt Krasula, Brian Hanley, Lauren Burns, and Mark Beyer.

"The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" is scheduled at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Ursula Academy, 4025 Indian Rd. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students.
