NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Country singer Randy Travis is resting after passing out on stage.

The 52-year-old fainted in a middle of a song Sunday at the Crystal Heart Gala, an annual benefit for the Huguley Memorial Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

Drs. Jeff Beeson and Steve Davis of the Emergency Physicians Advisory Board in Fort Worth were in attendance and rushed to Travis' aid.

They said Monday in a statement to The Associated Press that Travis was struggling with laryngitis due to chronic allergies and had taken several over-the-counter medications. He was overcome by dehydration, the heat of the stage lights and the medication.

Warner Music Nashville spokeswoman Tree Paine says Travis expects to resume his 25th anniversary tour without interruption.
