The United Service Organizations will present In the Mood today at the Stranahan Theater. The musical, which begins at 3 p.m., will take patrons to a post-war celebration featuring a large cast and internationally recognized big band orchestra String of Pearls playing hit music of the 1940s. A tribute to veterans will include a singer and dancers in uniform. Military veterans will be honored during the show. Tickets are $30, $35, and $40 at the Stranahan box office. Jazz man Calvin Hughes will celebrate his 50th birthday with the Calvin Hughes Jazz Series. The live show will take place from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Grand Plaza Hotel in downtown Toledo. The celebration will feature a full dinner buffet. Musical guests include Clifford Murphy, Skip Turner, Jesse Coleman, Joan Crawford, and recording artist John Brooks.
