Grammy-nominated Detroit rhythm and blues star Dwele will headline the Artz and Soul fund-raiser Sunday for the Grant Writers for the Arts Foundation

The event will begin at 2 p.m. at Club Evolution, 519 Reynolds Rd., and will help launch the organization that will provide instruction in the performing arts, visual arts, and music for children in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Since 2003 Dwele has recorded five albums, including this year's "Greater Than One." His discs regularly reach the top 10 of the Billboard R&B charts and his song "What Profit" was recently at the number 10 on the Adult R&B chart.

He wrote the majority of the songs on "Greater Than One" and plays keyboard, horns, and drums on most of the songs.

Also playing at the show are local artists Jesse Coleman & JAMM Band, Ramona Collins, Bobby G, and salsa and ballroom dance instructors performing a dance-off.

The Collingwood Arts Center is at 2413 Collingwood Blvd. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. For tickets go to www.grantwritersforthearts.org or call 419-740-0454.
