More details have emerged regarding Crystal Bowersox’s Broadway debut in the new musical Always... Patsy Cline this summer.

Bowersox’s photo was on the cover of the New York Times Arts section Wednesday and a short story inside the section said that the two-character show written by Ted Swindley also will feature actor Annette O’Toole, who played Superman’s mother in the TV series Smallville.

Always... Patsy Cline first ran off-Broadway in 1997 and has been produced by regional theaters. The director will be John Rando, who directed A Christmas Story. Performances are scheduled to begin in July with an August opening, but no theater has been selected.

Bowersox, an Elliston, Ohio native and the 2010 American Idol runner-up, released her second album, “All That For This,” on Tuesday.
