CLARKSTON, Mich. — Authorities are investigating an attempted burglary at Kid Rock’s Detroit-area home.

Oakland County Undersheriff Michael McCabe says security cameras caught a man ramming a gate with a white van Wednesday afternoon on the Clarkston property, north of Detroit. The man then tried to break into the house, but failed to do so. McCabe said in a release the man was on crutches.

Kid Rock is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the man’s arrest.

A message posted on Kid Rock’s website warns the rocker is “an avid hunter and marksman and ... will not hesitate to shoot anyone” who puts him and his family in danger.

Kid Rock’s music is a blend of hip-hop, hard rock, country and Southern rock. He was born Robert Ritchie.
